KC Scholars and SEED Success Join 1:1 Fund
Two new CSA programs based in Missouri – KC Scholars and SEED Success – have joined the 1:1 Fund just in time for #GivingTuesday (November 27), our final quarterly campaign of the year. Here’s what you need to know about the 1:1 Fund’s newest partners:
- KC Scholars, located in Kansas City, provides the means – through scholarships, financial incentives to promote college savings and support services – to low- and moderate-income ninth-grade students who seek to pursue and complete postsecondary education. Of the 500 accountholders KC Scholars have, 75% are first generation college goers, 76% are students of color and they come from 81 unique high schools in the Kansas City area.
- SEED Success, located in Columbia, MO, runs a CSA program called BooneSaves. BooneSaves partners with urban and rural schools that predominately serve students who qualify for free and reduced lunch to set up college and career incentive savings accounts. It also provides financial education to children in partnerships with these schools starting in kindergarten. BooneSaves has 40 accounts set up now.
