1:1 Fund Kicks Off 2018 Fundraising with Spring into Savings Campaign
Prosperity Now’s recent report, The Movement Takes Off: The State of the Children’s Savings Field 2017, highlights that 69% of Children’s Savings Account (CSA) programs’ financial support comes from the philanthropic community. Interestingly, the second highest source of operational and programmatic support comes from individual donors (46%). We’ve tapped into that second source of funding through the 1:1 Fund, Prosperity Now's online platform that makes it easy for local children's savings programs to raise savings incentives from donors, large and small.
During the week of March 19, the 1:1 Fund is hosting "Spring into Savings", our first fundraising campaign of 2018. But before I describe that, let me say a little more about how we got here. The 1:1 Fund has dramatically increased its fundraising efforts over the last year. Last November’s #GivingTuesday fundraising campaign stands as the most successful fundraising day in the 1:1 Fund’s history. Partner organizations raised more than $96,500, which was nearly doubled by a match from the 1:1 Fund for a total of $176,115 in savings incentives. These funds will incent more than 1,000 CSA savers.
The 1:1 Fund's Back to School fundraising campaign last September was right behind #GivingTuesday 2017. Partners raised a total of $69,500, which was increased to $133,551.50 with 1:1 Fund matches. In addition to great fundraising, the 1:1 Fund also added six partner organizations last year, growing from 10 to 16 partners. That means nearly 30% of CSA programs across the country are 1:1 Fund partners.
On March 19, the 1:1 Fund will kick off its first quarterly fundraising campaign since our two record-setting campaigns in 2017. Highlighting the start of the spring season, at least five partners will participate in the 1:1 Fund's week-long "Spring into Savings" campaign from March 19-23.
Individual donors can directly help young savers across the country to fulfill their college dreams by donating to any of the participating partners below. The 1:1 Fund will match each donation, dollar-for-dollar, up to $500 per donor, during the campaign week. Be sure to visit 1to1fund.org the week of March 19 to find donation pages for each of the partners below:
