The California Student Aid Commission awarded several 1:1 Fund partners grants to strengthen their CSA programs as part of a one-time, $3 million state grant program to support local CSA programs.
The 1:1 Fund held its first fundraising campaign of the year, Spring into Savings, from March 11-15. Six partners participated and combined to raise $32,488 in the five-day campaign.
During the 1:1 Fund’s last quarterly campaign of 2018, Giving Tuesday, 13 CSA programs raised more than $85,000 from approximately 330 donors to fund incentives for young students to save for college. With matching dollars from the 1:1 Fund, the total amount raised came to almost $118,000. These totals marked another strong Giving Tuesday for the 1:1 Fund.
After 28 years with the “I Have A Dream” Foundation, the Des Moines Dream affiliate has rebranded as a separate nonprofit: the By Degrees Foundation.
Partners for Youth Opportunity, a 1:1 Fund partner in Durham, NC, works with older youth, providing them with extensive job training and paid internships, in addition to CSAs.
During June’s Graduation Campaign, 1:1 Fund staff attended a fundraising event hosted by 1:1 Fund partner Inversant.

During last month’s Graduation fundraising campaign, 1:1 Fund partner Promise Indiana raised $83,202—the largest amount ever raised by a 1:1 Fund partner in one campaign.

Partners for Youth Opportunity, a 1:1 Fund partner organization in Durham, NC, released Building Financial Capability on the Road to Post-Secondary Success: A Case Study of PYO and LCCU’s Innovative Youth Employment Program.
Three new organizations joined the 1:1 Fund just in time for our second-to-last fundraising campaign of the year, which had a Back to School theme.
Earlier this summer, Durham Mayor William V. Bell proclaimed June 19 as “Durham Kids Save Day" as part of a presentation at City Hall. Durham Kids Save, a 1:1 Fund partner based in Durham, NC, helps low-income children save for college by providing all incoming kindergarten students at Y.E. Smith Elementary School with a savings account and an initial deposit of $100.
Since its inception, 1,875 donors have powered 1:1 Fund partners' ability to achieve their mission and expand economic opportunity.
We couldn't think of a more exciting way to start 2014 than to have our new website recognized by The Nonprofit Times as "outstanding."
