1:1 Fund Back-to-School Campaign in Full Swing This Week, Featuring Three New Partners

On Monday, the 1:1 Fund launched its annual Back-to-School Campaign to raise savings incentives for kids and teens saving in Children’s Savings Accounts (CSAs). The 1:1 Fund is Prosperity Now’s online platform that makes it easy for local children’s savings programs to raise matching funds from donors, large and small. With one day remaining in this year’s campaign, it’s not too late to support kid’s college dreams by making a donation today

The 1:1 Fund continues to expand its number of partners. In the past month, three new organizations—College DreamsOakland Promise and Springboard to Opportunities—have joined and are all participating in the Back to School campaign:

  • Oakland Promise is a cradle-to-career initiative aimed at tripling the number of college graduates from Oakland within the next decade. As part of its model, which includes both college savings efforts and scholarship support for high school graduates, the Oakland Promise has two distinct CSA programs: Brilliant Baby and Kindergarten to College. Brilliant Baby gives low-income families with a newborn a CSA seeded with $500. Kindergarten to College, meanwhile, gives Oakland public school elementary students $50 to open their own 529 college savings account.

  • College Dreams prepares low-income, first generation and underrepresented youth in South Oregon for success in college and careers. Located in Grants Pass, Oregon, College Dreams provides their 1,167 participants with savings matches for kids. They hope to provide additional benchmark incentives for their program, rewarding students for attendance and community service.

  • Springboard to Opportunities connects families living in affordable housing in Jackson, Mississippi, with resources and programs that help them advance themselves in school, work and life. Springboard to Opportunities provides accounts seeded with $50 to children who live in federally subsidized housing developed and managed by Springboard.

It’s not just the three new partners that are raising money this week—1:1 Fund partners like Kickstart to Career in Michigan, San Francisco’s Kindergarten to College, Lansing SAVE, Partners for Youth Opportunity in Durham and St. Louis College Kids are all participating in this week’s Back to School campaign.

With just over 24 hours left to go, you can support local CSA programs across the country by donating to any of the nine participating 1:1 Fund partners below. Each donation will be matched by the 1:1 Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $500, as long as gifts are received by Friday, September 15:
